Medical Assistant - Apprentice
DESCRIPTION
Providence is calling a Medical Assistant - Apprentice (Family Practice Clinic, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Medical Group in Spokane, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
Providence MA Apprenticeship is 2,000 hours of paid clinical practice under the guidance of a Medical Assistant (MA) coach, 364 hours of coursework (unpaid), 3 skills labs (unpaid) and participate in all required apprenticeship activities. You will be responsible for providing direct patient care and will practice up to the skills learned and approved to practice through the apprentice program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications for this position include:
- High School Education or Equivalent
- Current Blood Borne Pathogens 7-hour training (Pre-hire requirement)
- Current BLS – Healthcare Provider (must be AHA accredited) required no later than 30 days after hire
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the beginning date of the MA Apprentice program
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Prior work or volunteer experience in a medical setting

- Complete 12-month online curriculum & 3 labs with WACMHC.

- Complete Apprenticeship & MA-C National Cert Test.
- Stay with employer, receive education loan forgiveness for service; repayable if Apprentice leaves prior to 2 years.
