ECEAP logoNEWESD 101 is a local administrator of Washington's Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP). ECEAP is a comprehensive, state-funded preschool program providing free educational services and supports to eligible children and their families. ECEAP provides children with a high-quality preschool classroom experience, in addition to comprehensive services for the child. Leadership and parent education opportunities are also provided for families. The program's goal is to help ensure all Washington children enter kindergarten ready to succeed.

ECEAP provides a family-centered preschool experience that includes:

  • Education: Children take part in a wide variety of activities in a positive, culturally sensitive environment. During class days children build their social skills through activities, songs, science and dramatic play.
  • Health and Nutrition: Children gain access to medical, dental, and mental health services and receive nutritious snacks as part of the classroom experience.
  • Parent Involvement: Parents may choose to take part in and make decisions about their children's education through involvement in policy councils, support groups, and work in the classroom and home.
  • Family Support Services: Families are linked to community services and the resources they need.
