Launched by the Child Nutrition Services department in 2019, NEWESD 101's Farm to School (F2S) program connects local farmers and school districts to strengthen nutrition programs in schools across Washington while educating students about agriculture and healthy foods.

The F2S program is currently funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Regional Food Systems Partnership grant, Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) and the SNAP-Ed program.

REGIONAL FARM TO SCHOOL SUPPORT

Our NEWESD 101 F2S Team is here to support schools and local producers in the following ways:

  • Facilitate connections between producers and schools districts
  • Provide schools with onsite trainings, recipes, kitchen equipment and incredible ingredients to offer the most nutritious options possible.
  • Learning opportunities for students to meet the farmers behind their meals through local food focus days and/or field trips.

Are you a farmer interested in selling your products to school districts?

Please complete this Farmer Interest Survey or reach out to the F2S coordinator in your region.
