ECEAP Program Options

Not all sites operate each program option. Some sites may operate a combination of part-day and school-day classes. The ELMS data system will determine eligibility for program options based on parent work, education or training hours and activities.
Part-Day program options are usually between 3 to 4 hours per class session with classes meeting 3 to 4 days per week (depending on location). Classes operate during the regular school year (September-May or June).
School-Day programs options are usually between 5.5 to 6.5 hours per class with classes meeting 4 to 5 days per week (Monday-Friday). Classes operate during the regular school year (September-June). This model is intended for families who do not need full-time child care (for example: working part-time, in job training/search/education, and/or other family situations that do not require full-time child care).
Working-Day/Year programs options are open about 10 hours per day, 5 days per week, 12 months per year. This model provides children with comprehensive preschool services integrated with full-time child care in one setting, with ECEAP requirements met for all hours of care. This model is intended for families that are working/training/education full-time and need full-time child care (two parents need combination of at least 55 hours per week/single parent needs at least 25 hours per week). At this time, this program type is only available at the Green Gable North location for families who live within the Mead School District.

If you do not live in one of the areas listed above, but live in Spokane County, there are other Head Start/ECEAP/Early Head Start options available through the Community Colleges of Spokane. Call their main number (509) 533-4800 or go to their website for more information.
