About the Bismarck H. Turner Trust:

The Bismarck H. Turner Scholarship Trust was established by Mr. Turner for the purpose of providing scholarships to students graduating from one of four counties; Spokane and Pend Orielle in Washington and Kootenai and Bonner in Idaho.

Mr. Turner was a land owner in Idaho and Washington, working in the timber industry and becoming a land developer. Mr. Turner came from an educated family and was very supportive of higher education. Thus the majority of his estate was set up in the scholarship fund.
